Research Solutions to the Energy Crisis Using Available Materials

The resources to establish global energy security are in the planet; unfortunately, we may not implement them before the depletion of fossil fuels. Without fossil fuels, critical industries and public services cannot function.

What you can do is research biophotovoltaics. It seems to me that the field is not developed enough to produce sufficiently efficient biological solar cells to meet civic energy demands, but the feasibility of biological solar cells is already established. Massproduced biological cell cultures that generate a current when they are exposed to solar radiation and their cell culture medium is connected to a circuit seems to most promising way to meet urgent global energy demands.

Open-source biotech is taking off1; and, if we can get more people thinking about this and talking about this, we might come up with some solutions.

There are things you can do to make a dent in your household's consumption of fossil fuels: use solar cells that are already fabricated - such contributes to the industry and uses neglible units compared to those used to outfit a central operation.

Unless you are irreplacable or have your own bunker equipped to reside in until military scientists establish global energy security, the effort is critical to your survival.
