The Medical Establishment Has Neglected Its Duties to Society

The presumed intelligence of doctors compels me to think they have, as an organization, neglected the duties of their profession. That is, thay are uniquely positioned as cinical researchers and opinion leaders. Their descriptions of necessity ought to guide the hand of public investment in their profession.

The social role of the doctor is to care for the health of citizens. Such is reflected in the purpose of the Hippocratic oath. It is a rational end toward the health and development of the medical communities' wider support systems.

Not only are they dependent on citizens with human brains whose neglect can slow the completion of personal services, but the market compels corporations to allow research relevant to their fields. Such excess labor is likely to inadvertently yield new design strategies (ergo increasing competetiveness).
